Steve Benjamin, LISW-S, joined Harbor in August of 1987. Mr. Benjamin is the Senior Vice President of Services and Legislative Affairs at Harbor and is responsible for Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Prevention, compliance, risk management, performance improvement and companywide trainings. Mr. Benjamin also manages government affair operations, at the state and federal levels.
Mr. Benjamin began his career at Harbor as a Therapist and progressively earned responsible positions including; Case Manager Supervisor, Partial Hospitalization Program Supervisor, Associate Executive Director, Vice President of Quality Improvement and Vice President of Clinical Services.
Prior to joining Harbor, Mr. Benjamin spent five years as a Children’s Therapist and Treatment Group Coordinator at the Children’s Resource Center in Wood County. Steve has experience working in private practice, academic settings and contracted services for Family Court.
Mr. Benjamin earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from Wurtzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University in New York. He completed his Bachelors of Science (Magna cum Laude) from the University of Toledo. Additionally, Steve earned his Academy of Certified Social Work (ACSW) and his Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor status.
Mr. Benjamin has had extensive experience in working on behavioral health issues in multiple settings for people of all ages. His goal is to work with others to improve the health of our community.
